Jared is a geologist with expertise in geomorphology and Quaternary geoscience. His work is focused on the application of geoscience to land management decisions. Jared has experience working on terrain stability issues in the forestry and energy sectors across North America, and has made in-depth studies of erosion and drainage problems affecting resource roads in Alberta. He has also undertaken a multi-geohazard climate change vulnerability study for a major linear corridor in western Canada. In addition to his work in Quaternary geoscience, Jared has also taken part in mapping sedimentary bedrock in the Canadian Arctic with the Geological Survey of Canada.
